On October 26, as reported by Nikkei, Japan is set to roll out subsidies amounting to roughly 100 billion yen (equivalent to approximately US$636 million) over the upcoming four-year period. This initiative aims to bolster the large-scale manufacturing of next-generation flexible perovskite solar cells and to propel forward their commercialization in the market. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan is poised to announce the recipients of these subsidies in the near future, with Ricoh and Choshu Industry among the anticipated beneficiaries. By fiscal year 2029, the cumulative subsidies are projected to hit the 100 billion yen mark, with both companies expected to match or exceed this investment level. The allocated funds will be earmarked for the establishment of mass production facilities.
