The German engineering firm GICON has successfully elevated an exceptionally tall wind turbine unit in Spree-Neiße, Brandenburg. Standing at a total height of 365 meters, with its hub positioned 300 meters above ground level, this unit—measured from the apex of its blades—now holds the distinction of being the world’s tallest wind power installation and Germany’s second-highest man-made structure. However, it's important to note that this achievement pertains to height alone, not power generation capacity. Reports indicate that this experimental unit boasts a rated capacity of 3.8 megawatts, which is notably less than the 26-megawatt capacity of a prototype offshore wind turbine developed by China’s Dongfang Electric.
