Recently, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has given the green light to SpaceX, authorizing it to deploy and manage up to 15,000 Starlink Mobile satellites. Notably, SpaceX had previously rebranded its initial 'Starlink DTC (Direct to Cell)' service as 'Starlink Mobile.' By June 7, 2026, this innovative service will have expanded its reach to encompass 32 countries and regions spanning six continents, offering communication support to an estimated 1.7 billion individuals. Thanks to the FCC's endorsement, SpaceX is now poised to create a satellite network capable of directly delivering mobile communication services to regular smartphones, thereby making further inroads into the conventional mobile communication landscape.
