On September 1, the launch ceremony for SEAM@InnoHK, the third InnoHK innovation and technology R&D platform, was held at the Hong Kong Science Park. This platform is a collaborative effort between the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. As a key innovation and technology project of the HKSAR government, InnoHK aims to position Hong Kong as a global hub for scientific research collaboration. Previously, the platform had launched HEALTH@InnoHK, focusing on healthcare technologies, and AIR@InnoHK, focusing on artificial intelligence. The newly launched SEAM@InnoHK will concentrate on areas such as sustainability, energy, advanced manufacturing, and materials. In his speech, Sun Dong, the Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR government, stated that the first two platforms have successfully connected over 30 top universities and research institutions from 12 economies, bringing together approximately 3,000 local and international researchers. The HKSAR government will invest approximately HK$2.5 billion in SEAM@InnoHK to establish eight R&D centers, collaborating with around 30 partners from the mainland and overseas.
