On August 31, the Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with six other governmental departments, released implementation directives aimed at fostering the growth and enhancement of commodity consumption. These directives outline the establishment of national pilot sites for AI applications within the consumer domain, enhancement of research and development frameworks for AI-driven products, introduction of internationally pioneering smart consumer goods with significant market potential, and expediting the widespread adoption of AI-enabled smartphones, computers, wearable technology, robots, and smart home systems. Furthermore, the directives emphasize the need to develop consumption infrastructure, encompassing 'AI + consumption' hubs, multi-functional stores, and AI application showcase centers.
