Former Microsoft engineer Dave Plummer, who participated in the development of Task Manager and helped bring Space Cadet Pinball to Windows, has now revealed the "bloat" problem in modern software development through a new project. Based on experimental code for minimized Windows applications from years ago, he developed a native text editor, TinyRetroPad. Despite being only about 2.5KB in size, this editor is fully functional, supporting common operations such as opening and saving files, finding and replacing text, printing, font selection, word wrapping, and prompts for unsaved content.
