AstraZeneca has signed a new agreement with CSPC Pharmaceutical Group to jointly develop novel small nucleic acid drug candidates. The collaboration will leverage CSPC's proprietary siRNA drug discovery platform and extrahepatic targeted delivery platform to discover and develop preclinical drug candidates with potential for treating multiple indications of kidney diseases, focusing on two targets. AstraZeneca has the option to obtain exclusive rights for the development, production, and commercialization of these drugs globally or in regions outside of China, while CSPC Pharmaceutical Group will retain relevant rights for one of the projects in China.
