On June 29, China inaugurated its first solar thermal power station in the northeastern region—the 100 MW CGN Jixi Base Solar Thermal Power Station—in Da'an City, Jilin Province. This milestone marks significant progress in deploying solar thermal power generation technology in high-latitude and extremely cold areas across China. Positioned at 45.36 degrees north latitude, this power station stands as China's northernmost solar thermal facility. Boasting an installed capacity of 100 MW and an 8-hour thermal storage capability, it ensures safe, stable, and continuous operation around the clock. The station utilizes a vast array of mirrors to concentrate sunlight onto a heat collection device, facilitating both energy storage and power generation.
