On June 26, Changhong Energy disclosed that it had obtained the approval from the Mianyang Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. This approval grants, in principle, its subsidiary, Changhong Sanjie, permission to invest up to 999 million yuan in Malaysia for the construction of a high-speed lithium battery production line project. Once completed, this project is expected to enhance production capacity by 170 million battery cells. Concurrently, the commission has also given, in principle, its approval for Changhong Energy to undertake a private placement, issuing shares to specific investors to raise funds not exceeding 903 million yuan.
