On June 15, 2026, Canadian fintech company Nuvei announced that it will acquire cross-border payment company Payoneer for approximately $2.75 billion in an all-cash deal. According to the transaction plan, Nuvei will acquire all outstanding shares of Payoneer at a price of $7.40 per share, representing a premium of approximately 44% over the closing price on June 8. Earlier, on June 9, reports emerged that the two sides were in advanced negotiations regarding the acquisition. The acquisition is expected to be completed by mid-2027, pending approval from Payoneer's shareholders, regulatory approvals, and the satisfaction of other closing conditions. After the merger, the new company will provide businesses with a unified platform to receive, hold, and manage funds in over 190 countries and regions, with expected annual revenue of $3 billion, annual payment transaction volume exceeding $500 billion, and serving over 2.4 million customers.
