Samsung Group has assembled a specialized task force, comprised of high-ranking executives, with the dual aim of delving into the energy sector as a promising new avenue for business expansion and fostering enhanced collaboration among its various subsidiaries. As reported by South Korea's Maeil Business Newspaper, drawing on insights from an unnamed Samsung executive, this task force is also strategizing to identify potential merger and acquisition prospects within the energy domain. The executive members of this task force hail from a diverse range of Samsung's subsidiaries, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung C&T, Samsung Engineering & Construction, and Samsung Heavy Industries. Presently, the task force is engaged in an exhaustive analysis of the energy industry's value chain, encompassing aspects such as energy supply and demand dynamics, construction project contracts, power generation technologies, power grid infrastructures, nuclear power plants, and AI data centers.
