On April 8, China achieved a significant milestone in maritime engineering with the completion of its first independently designed and built 180,000 cubic meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. This vessel, which is now primed for delivery, was constructed at the China Merchants Shipbuilding Haimen Base. Stretching 298.8 meters in length and boasting a beam of 48 meters, the carrier stands as a testament to China's growing prowess in shipbuilding technology.

Equipped with a dual-fuel low-speed propulsion system, the vessel is designed to minimize evaporation rates and maximize environmental performance. This state-of-the-art feature underscores China's commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly maritime solutions. As the largest LNG carrier ever built in China, this vessel represents a major leap forward in the nation's ability to construct large-scale clean energy vessels, further solidifying its position in the global maritime industry.
