Chevron said on Friday that it is making every effort to resume production at its Gorgon and Wheatstone liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities in Australia, following a potential production disruption caused by Tropical Cyclone Narelle. A malfunction occurred at the Wheatstone platform at noon local time on Thursday, halting onshore gas production. As per standard procedures, personnel were evacuated before the cyclone's arrival. Since Tuesday afternoon, the platform has been remotely operated from the Perth office. Chevron stated that it would fully resume production at both facilities once safety is ensured.
