Apple has introduced a new security pop-up blocking mechanism for the Terminal application in the latest release of macOS 26.4. When users copy commands from Safari or other apps and attempt to paste them into the Terminal, the system will display a warning indicating a potential malware threat and block the paste action. The pop-up explains that scammers often induce (lure) users into pasting text via websites or chat support to compromise systems or steal privacy. While the system blocks the paste, users can still choose to force paste or cancel. To avoid disrupting advanced users, the warning typically triggers only on the first cross-app paste attempt, balancing security and efficiency.
