On March 20, Beike Finance and Economics reported that Tesla is gearing up for substantial procurement of Chinese photovoltaic equipment. The contract sizes are projected to reach the gigawatt scale, involving several listed companies. Tesla aims to acquire photovoltaic manufacturing equipment, totaling US$2.9 billion, from Chinese suppliers like Maxwell Technology. This move aligns with Musk's ambition to establish a solar manufacturing capacity of 100GW in the United States. The equipment is anticipated to be dispatched to Texas, USA, before autumn, with a portion of the capacity earmarked for powering SpaceX satellites.
