On March 19, 2026, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) officially approved Nasdaq's pilot program for the trading and settlement of tokenized securities. The program allows eligible participants to settle trades in tokenized form within a pilot project operated by the Depository Trust Company (DTC). Tokenized stocks will share the same order book and execution priority as traditional stocks, while enjoying identical shareholder rights. During the initial phase of the pilot, it will cover Russell 1000 index constituents and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking mainstream indices such as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100.
