China's commercial space industry is stepping into a pivotal development stage, transitioning from technological accumulation to reaching new heights, with a proactive deployment across diverse regions. Beijing Yizhuang, renowned for its high concentration of industries and a well-rounded industrial chain, has already rolled out nine production capacity projects, with a cumulative investment surpassing 15 billion yuan. Since the dawn of China's commercial space industry in 2015, it is anticipated that by 2025, commercial space launches will constitute half of all launches, with commercial satellites in orbit making up 84% of the total. The year 2026 will herald a crucial period for validating key technologies and establishing business models, with multiple rocket models slated for maiden flights or recovery tests. Commercial satellites are actively seeking frequency and orbital resources, gearing towards industrial-scale production, and broadening their application domains. The fervor among enterprises is fueled by positive signals from the capital market, with several companies progressing towards going public. The site selection of commercial space enterprises is swayed by various regional factors, and Yizhuang, with its robust industrial base, has lured numerous enterprises, forming a full-fledged industrial ecosystem. After moving to Yizhuang, Hongqing Technology received multifaceted support. From 2023 to 2025, Yizhuang will witness a substantial surge in commercial rocket launches and satellites in orbit, and it has already amassed over 180 enterprises. In January 2026, Beijing Rocket Street officially opened its doors, aiming to cultivate an industrial ecosystem where 'upstairs and downstairs represent upstream and downstream,' slashing R&D costs for enterprises and nurturing the growth of an industrial innovation cluster.
