On January 21, SWISSto12, a Swiss space company renowned for crafting cutting-edge satellite systems and radio frequency products, declared that it had successfully obtained €73 million (roughly equivalent to $84.8 million) in financial support. This funding is earmarked for its innovative “Hummingbird Satellite” platform project, a collaborative endeavor with the European Space Agency (ESA). The financial backing, which received the green light from ESA member states during a ministerial council meeting held in November 2025, is slated to fuel the project's research and development phase, as well as its transition into industrial-scale production. Moreover, SWISSto12 revealed that it had also secured additional investments from European private investors in the latter half of 2025, propelling the total funds raised to surpass €100 million.
