On January 21st, news emerged that Haiyang City, located in Yantai, Shandong Province, boasts China's sole existing commercial space launch hub at sea. Presently, the development of China's inaugural offshore liquid rocket launch and recovery test platform is progressing rapidly, with more than 150 workers toiling around the clock. The construction of the platform is anticipated to reach completion by approximately February 5th, after which debugging and rehearsal procedures will commence. Around the time of the Spring Festival, a leading commercial liquid rocket in China is set to carry out its inaugural offshore launch and recovery test at this location. Currently, the Oriental Spaceport stands as the sole offshore launch hub in China, having successfully propelled 137 satellites into space.
