Recently, the largest user-side energy storage project in China, boasting a capacity of 107.12MW/428.48MWh, was officially connected to the grid and commenced operations. This project, jointly developed by Great Power Energy and Sichuan Zhongfu, marks a significant milestone as it is the first large-scale user-side energy storage initiative within the electrolytic aluminum industry. The implementation of this project is anticipated to yield substantial cost savings for Sichuan Zhongfu, specifically reducing the electricity cost per ton of electrolytic aluminum by approximately RMB 140. This translates to annual electricity cost savings exceeding RMB 60 million. Moreover, the project is expected to conserve approximately 19,700 tons of standard coal annually and significantly mitigate carbon dioxide emissions by roughly 52,000 tons.
