China to Witness 50 Commercial Aerospace Launches in 2025

On January 20th, reports emerged indicating that China's commercial aerospace sector witnessed remarkable growth in 2025. Throughout the year, the industry achieved a total of 50 launches, constituting 54% of the nation's overall annual space launch activities. Of these, commercial carrier rockets were responsible for 25 launches. Following the commencement of operations at the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, nine additional launches were conducted, elevating the cumulative tally to ten. Moreover, the year saw 16 other commercial satellite launches.

Across the entire year, a total of 311 commercial satellites were successfully deployed into orbit, accounting for 84% of all satellites launched by the country. Additionally, significant strides were made in reusable carrier rocket technology. The Zhuque-3 reusable carrier rocket made a successful debut flight, achieving second-stage orbit insertion and validating key technologies such as first-stage re-entry and return.
