On January 13, Italy’s antitrust regulatory body disclosed that, in accordance with a September 2025 decision by the Regional Administrative Court, it had recalibrated the financial penalty. Consequently, Amazon’s historic fine for exploiting its dominant market position within the logistics services sector was reduced from €1.128 billion to €752.4 million (roughly equivalent to $878.2 million). In 2021, Italy’s Competition and Market Authority determined that Amazon’s preferential promotion of its in-house logistics services had skewed competition. The recalibration of the fine underscores the persistent vigilance of EU member states regarding the competitive behaviors of major tech firms, and the legal proceedings in this case remain ongoing.
