On Tuesday (local time), Arizona's Attorney General, Kris Mayes, unveiled a legal action against the Chinese cross-border e-commerce platform Temu and its parent entity, PDD Holdings. The complaint alleges that the companies have been covertly harvesting extensive volumes of sensitive user data without obtaining proper consent. This data includes GPS location information, lists of installed apps, details of network connections, and other personal information. Additionally, the lawsuit points out breaches of consumer protection statutes, encompassing the sale of counterfeit merchandise, deceptive advertising practices, and the creation of fake user reviews.

In response to these allegations, Arizona authorities are urging the public to uninstall the Temu app and conduct thorough security scans on their devices. Furthermore, the state is pursuing a court mandate to force Temu to halt its unlawful operations and provide restitution to consumers who have been adversely affected.
