On Monday, industry insiders reported that Airbus has identified industrial quality problems in the fuselage panels of numerous A320 - series aircraft. Suspected production defects are causing delays in the delivery of some planes. Currently, there are no indications that aircraft already in service have been impacted. Airbus has remained silent on this issue so far, and the underlying cause of the problem remains undetermined.
At present, Airbus is not only striving to achieve its annual delivery target but also grappling with the recall of aircraft caused by a software glitch that emerged over the weekend. The delivery of some aircraft has been disrupted, yet the exact number of affected planes and the duration of the delays have not been confirmed. In November, Airbus delivered 72 aircraft, falling short of earlier projections. As of now, it has delivered 657 aircraft this year, with an annual target of around 820. This implies that it needs to deliver a record - breaking number of over 160 aircraft in December.
