Recently, the globe's inaugural commercial supercritical carbon dioxide generator set has successfully accomplished grid-connected commissioning at Shougang Shuicheng Iron & Steel, situated in Liupanshui, Guizhou Province. This milestone event sets the stage for its subsequent full-power operation. This demonstration project, a collaborative effort between the Nuclear Power Institute of China and Jigang Group International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., stands as the world's first 2 x 15-megawatt supercritical carbon dioxide sintering waste heat power generation system. Once operational, the project is anticipated to elevate waste heat utilization efficiency by over 50% in comparison to the prevailing sintering waste heat steam power generation technology.
