The Langmuir probe system, designed for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) — often dubbed the world's largest 'artificial sun' — has successfully undergone the final design review for its pivotal core technologies and processes at the headquarters of the ITER Organization in France. This milestone represents a significant leap forward in China's endeavors to develop critical diagnostic systems for the ITER project, paving the way for subsequent manufacturing and delivery stages. As an essential diagnostic component for the ITER divertor, the projects undertaken by China have been accomplished with complete autonomy. The resulting products are slated for installation at the divertor positions within sectors 2, 10, and 14 of the facility, marking another step in China's contributions to global scientific research.
