Microsoft has officially acknowledged that, following the installation of the most recent updates, Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2, along with Windows 10 version 22H2, may inadvertently activate BitLocker encryption's recovery mode. In this scenario, users are prompted to input their recovery key; failure to do so could result in the irreversible loss of all data. The updates implicated in this issue are Windows 11 25H2 KB5066835, Windows 11 24H2 KB5066835, and Windows 10 22H2 KB5066791. Microsoft has clarified that the problem predominantly impacts devices equipped with Intel processors that are compatible with the Modern Standby feature.
