On October 28, 2025, U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced a partnership with Citigroup to jointly create innovative payment solutions for large institutional clients, with a focus on optimizing the conversion channels between fiat currency and digital assets. Coinbase will contribute its expertise in digital asset infrastructure, while Citi will provide access to its global network, which spans 94 markets and connects to over 300 payment and clearing systems. The collaboration includes enhancing deposit and withdrawal systems, developing payment tools incorporating stablecoins, and advancing other infrastructure projects, with plans to expand services to global clients in the future.
