Previously, the Brunei Department of Civil Aviation only allowed the operation of passenger aircraft certified by the civil aviation authorities of the United States, Canada, Europe, and Brazil. Now, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has been included in the recognized list. As early as 2023, Batik Air Brunei placed an order for C909 and C919 passenger aircraft from COMAC.
