SpaceX has recently revealed that it has taken decisive action by identifying and deactivating more than 2,000 Starlink satellite terminals operating within fraud centers situated in Myanmar. This move comes in response to prior appeals from politicians and relevant advocacy groups urging SpaceX to curb the misuse of its satellite internet service by fraudsters engaging in illicit activities. On this past Tuesday, Lauren Dreyer, Starlink's Vice President of Business Operations, shared a message on the X platform (formerly Twitter), stating that the company has deactivated in excess of 2,500 devices located in proximity to suspected fraud centers in Myanmar. Furthermore, she emphasized the company's commitment to promptly addressing any breaches of its policies, including working in tandem with international law enforcement agencies to tackle such issues.
