The Italian Space Agency and Thales Alenia Space (a joint venture between Italy's Leonardo Group and France's Thales) announced that one of Europe's largest satellite manufacturing centers will be operational by the end of 2025. Covering an area of 21,000 square meters with a total investment of 100 million euros, funded by the EU's post-pandemic recovery funds and self-financed by Thales Alenia Space, the factory is expected to produce up to 100 satellites annually.
