On October 12th, the newly developed operational satellite, named “Power Engineering A Satellite” (also referred to as the “Jilin Star” Gaofen 07A01 Satellite), commenced its journey from the Aerospace Information Industrial Park located in Jilin Province. This satellite represents a collaborative effort between Chang Guang Satellite and the State Grid Electric Power Research Institute. Its deployment is set to expedite the networking process of the “Jilin-1” satellite project, while simultaneously enriching the constellation's repository of high-precision, high-resolution remote sensing information resources. The satellite is engineered to facilitate meticulous and three-dimensional monitoring of power engineering operations across two distinct dimensions. In the two-dimensional realm, it will enable intelligent extraction of power grid elements and facilitate power line inspections. In the three-dimensional sphere, it will undertake tasks such as high-altitude obstacle monitoring and power line site selection planning. Ultimately, these capabilities will significantly enhance the management efficiency of power business operations.
