Recently, the Xiamen Municipal Development and Reform Commission has formally rolled out the Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry in Xiamen (2025 - 2027). This plan puts forward the idea of backing the promotion and utilization of green hydrogen in sectors such as semiconductors, high-end glass production, and rare earth smelting. Moreover, it aims to investigate the potential of employing hydrogen backup power for energy-intensive equipment, including computing power centers and 5G base stations. By 2027, Xiamen has set its sights on launching demonstration routes for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, constructing three hydrogen refueling stations, and establishing a locally distinctive demonstration and application chain for the hydrogen energy industry.
