The purpose of this investigation is to determine whether SAP has engaged in practices that distort competition in the market for on-premises Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software within the European Economic Area. This type of ERP software, licensed by SAP, is instrumental in managing various aspects of enterprise business operations.
In parallel with this investigation, the European Commission has already compiled and adopted a preliminary assessment report. This report not only outlines the key facts of the case but also highlights specific concerns related to competition in the market. As part of the process, SAP has the opportunity to submit a commitment proposal aimed at addressing the concerns raised by the European Commission.
