At the 25th China International Industry Fair, China Fusion Energy Co., Ltd., a newly established entity with a registered capital of 15 billion yuan just over two months prior, made its maiden appearance, unveiling its technological blueprint and business strategy. The company has set an ambitious goal to commercialize fusion energy by 2050, with collaborative R&D efforts slated for Shanghai and Chengdu. A number of experts specializing in controllable nuclear fusion have verified that the company intends to construct a novel fusion experimental apparatus, dubbed the 'China Huanliu No. 4 (HL-4)', in Shanghai. This device will serve as a platform to test and validate the high-temperature superconducting magnets developed in the city, marking a significant step forward in China's pursuit of sustainable and clean energy solutions.
