The National Energy Administration, in conjunction with three other key departments, has released a set of guiding opinions designed to foster the high-quality progression of energy equipment. These opinions advocate for the swift attainment of technological advancements in pivotal equipment for pressurized water reactor units, as well as the bolstering of experimental validation and product testing capabilities. Concurrently, there will be a focused push to undertake R&D and validation endeavors for novel equipment, processes, and materials tailored to advanced nuclear technologies, encompassing small modular reactors and Generation IV nuclear systems. The aim is to elevate the long-term service performance of materials under extreme conditions, amplify irradiation testing proficiencies, address challenges in advanced manufacturing technologies, and facilitate the creation of an equipment development framework that spans across multiple reactor types.
