Senior General Michael Gertlein of the U.S. Space Force, who is overseeing the project, announced that the design phase has been concluded. He added that the current plan is now under review, and no additional details will be disclosed for the time being. According to projections from the U.S. Congressional Budget Office, the funding needed for the 'Golden Dome' project far surpasses initial estimates. The anticipated cost for the space-based interception segment alone is projected to soar as high as $542 billion over the next two decades.
