On September 17, the 2025 World Energy Storage Conference kicked off in Ningde. During the opening ceremony, Zeng Yuqun, Chairman of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL), pointed out that the energy storage sector still grapples with multiple challenges, including false product specifications and misleading marketing tactics. He revealed that certain companies neglect research and development efforts, instead resorting to parameter manipulation. Moreover, the warranty periods they offer lack a solid foundation. In real-world operations, the service life of some energy storage projects turns out to be significantly shorter than promised, with some cases even seeing it drop below 25% of the stated duration.
