At the 2025 World Energy Storage Conference, CATL announced the signing of several significant projects. Notably, the "CATL 21st Century Innovation R&D and Pilot Test Base Project," inked in collaboration with the Management Committee of the Dongqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone, envisions a substantial investment of RMB 2 billion. This project will encompass 16 pilot test initiatives, focusing on areas such as next-generation thin-film solar cells and essential primary materials for new energy batteries.
In addition, CATL is set to invest in the establishment of a new-generation new energy battery production line in Jiaocheng District. Spanning approximately 900 acres, this project will require a total investment of RMB 6.5 billion and is projected to have a production capacity of 40GWh.
Furthermore, CATL plans to set up a production line for new-generation irregular-shaped consumer batteries in Jiaocheng District as well. Covering an area of about 260 acres, this endeavor will involve a total investment of RMB 2.9 billion and will see the construction of six production lines for new-generation irregular-shaped consumer lithium-ion batteries.
Moreover, CATL will join forces with Fanderi Energy Infrastructure (Germany) GmbH on energy storage projects in Germany, with aspirations to further broaden their collaborative efforts in domains such as integrated energy storage systems.
