On September 8, 2025, EchoStar Communications (ECHOSTAR) announced a spectrum sales agreement with SpaceX, under which it will sell its spectrum license to SpaceX for approximately $17 billion. The transaction includes $8.5 billion in cash and $8.5 billion in SpaceX stock. Additionally, SpaceX will also provide funding for the interest payments on EchoStar Communications' $2 billion debt.
