On September 3rd, Zhang Keke, the esteemed Chief Scientist of the ‘Macau Science 1’ Satellite Project, was bestowed with the renowned ‘Shen Kuo Award’ at a ceremony held in Lisbon, Portugal, by the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy. This accolade stands out as the sole academic honor named after a Chinese luminary by a prominent international scientific body and is conferred biennially. Zhang Keke was recognized for his remarkable contributions in three pivotal research domains: the dynamo theory of the Earth, the wave theory pertaining to the Earth’s inner core, and the development of Macau’s high-precision geomagnetic satellite.
