As we enter September, Microsoft will officially unveil the Windows 11 25H2 version. Currently, this version is available through the Release Preview (RP) channel, allowing select users to upgrade and experience its features ahead of time. Notably, the Windows 11 25H2 upgrade employs the Enablement Package (eKB) mechanism, which boasts a file size of under 1MB—a stark contrast to previous patch packages that typically measured in gigabytes. This enablement package, deployed through cumulative updates, primarily unlocks features previously hidden in Windows 11 24H2 and enhances system stability. Leveraging the Shared Services Branch technology, this update is both lightweight and efficient, requiring users to restart their systems just once to complete the upgrade, thereby minimizing downtime.
