On August 27th, Kaiti Holding, a subsidiary of Haier Group, proudly announced the successful completion of a strategic equity investment and board restructuring at AutoHome. Through this transaction, Haier Group, via Kaiti Holding, acquired approximately 43% of AutoHome's shares from Yunchen Capital, a subsidiary of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd., for a sum of approximately US$1.8 billion, thereby becoming the controlling shareholder. Notably, Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance will continue to indirectly hold approximately 5.1% of AutoHome's shares and maintain one seat on the board.

In the aftermath of this acquisition, AutoHome's management team underwent adjustments as well. The newly appointed CEO, Yang Song, assured that the company's operations will proceed as usual, and there are no plans for layoffs. Haier Group's Chief Brand Officer clarified that Haier Group does not engage in car manufacturing; rather, this acquisition is strategically aimed at expanding its services in the automotive aftermarket sector.
