Recently, major ride-hailing platforms including Didi, T3 Travel, and Cao Cao Travel have announced significant reductions in their maximum commission rates. Didi and T3 Travel have lowered their maximum rates to 27%, while Cao Cao Travel has further cut its rate down to 22.5%. Despite these reductions, however, the income of ride-hailing drivers has not seen a notable increase in practical terms. Take Mr. Wang, a Hebei-based driver, as an example. The details of his orders reveal that even though the platform's commission rate has been trimmed down to 11%, his take-home income still amounts to a mere 69 yuan, out of which nearly 25 yuan is deducted due to passenger coupons. This underscores the limited direct impact that commission reductions have on drivers' earnings.
