Bulgaria Post announced on the 26th that, due to recent adjustments in U.S. import customs clearance policies, it will immediately cease accepting all shipments destined for the United States. Effective from the 29th, the United States will no longer grant duty-free status to imported packages valued at $800 USD and below, necessitating the payment of full taxes and fees. This shift in policy has prompted postal services from numerous European countries, including Bulgaria, to temporarily suspend their parcel services to the United States.
