In the past three years, Elon Musk's Starlink service has strategically positioned itself within the in-flight Wi-Fi market, securing partnerships with prominent airlines like Air France, Qatar Airways, and United Airlines. On Wednesday, the Alaska Air Group announced its intention to equip aircraft with the Starlink system beginning next year, thereby offering in-flight internet connectivity to passengers. Virgin Atlantic also sealed a deal in early July to integrate SpaceX's satellite network, and whispers suggest that British Airways might soon follow suit.
