On August 19, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, alongside the Central Commission for Social Work, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Energy Administration, convened a symposium dedicated to the photovoltaic industry. The core focus of the symposium was on regulating industry competition and advancing "anti-competitive practices" initiatives across various sectors. The meeting emphasized the need for stricter industrial regulation, the curbing of low-price and disorderly competition, the standardization of product quality, and the fostering of industry self-discipline.

It is noteworthy that specific details regarding the initiatives were not disclosed during the meeting. Instead, it is anticipated that the implementation specifics pertaining to batteries, modules, silicon wafers, and polysilicon will be discussed separately over the following two days. Notably, polysilicon enterprises have already reached a preliminary consensus on production reduction, managing production startups, sales, and inventory levels, and will soon progress to the implementation phase. Due to confidentiality constraints, the content and outcomes of the symposium have not been made public.
