A local instance of Chikungunya fever was detected in Babu District, Hezhou City, Guangxi, on August 18. The patient's condition is mild, and they are currently receiving treatment in the hospital. This disease is caused by the Chikungunya virus, with primary symptoms encompassing fever, skin rash, and joint pain. The primary mode of transmission is through the Aedes mosquito. In response to the outbreak, Babu District has initiated specialized mosquito eradication and disinfection measures, and urged residents to clear garbage, drain stagnant water, and enhance personal protection. Residents experiencing relevant symptoms are advised to promptly seek medical attention and disclose their travel history and any history of mosquito bites.
