In the second quarter of 2025, JD.com Group achieved revenue of RMB 356.7 billion, marking a 22.4% year-over-year increase and setting a new benchmark for growth over the past three years. Notably, the core retail business exhibited robust performance, with revenue from daily necessities surging 16.4% year-over-year. Among the new ventures, JD.com's food delivery segment witnessed an impressive 199% surge in revenue. User engagement has also skyrocketed, with both quarterly active users and shopping frequency jumping by more than 40% compared to the same period last year.
Moreover, the total workforce at JD.com has swelled to approximately 900,000 employees, primarily driven by the extensive hiring of delivery riders to support the expansion of its food delivery business. Xu Ran, CEO of JD.com Group, affirmed that the company remains committed to its development strategy and will refrain from engaging in malicious competition.
