The Baltic Dry Index, which measures the cost of shipping dry bulk commodities, closed the day down 13 points or 0.6%, settling at 2038 points. This decline marked an end to a three-day period of consecutive gains. Specifically, the Capesize and Panamax freight indices experienced drops of 0.8% and 1.3% respectively. Conversely, the Supramax freight index continued its upward trajectory, notching its seventh consecutive day of growth.
